Robins

Robins

These cheerful little birds are a joy to make in glass. They are made from small pieces of glass cut to shape and fused to a clear piece of glass. They are nice to look at all year round but are especially festive towards Christmas.

Glass Flowers

My latest project has been creating these glass flowers. They start life as flat pieces of glass in the kiln and move through various firing and slumping programmes to being added to pieces of copper piping. They are very satisfying to make and I am pleased with the result. Now to make some leaves to go with them.

Star Dishes

These star dishes are very exciting to make as you can never be sure quite how they are going to come out. You never know how the glass is going to mix in the kiln during firing and it is always a good morning when you open the kiln to see what has happened.

They can be made in a variety of sizes and colours and are remarkably robust.

Spring Flowers

SPRING FLOWERS

The days are getting longer and the spring flowers are starting to appear in the garden, what better time to create their images in glass. These are all new additions to the website and I have really enjoyed creating them.

SEAHORSES

SEAHORSES
This is a new set of dishes I have just added to the website. The dishes are decorated in a variety of ways using paints and also fusing copper between the two layers of glass. I have also used different types of streaky glass as background.

Bottles

Managed to add a new category this week. Have had fun decorating bottles with my favourite flowers and putting a string of led lights inside. I use outliner pens and glass paints. Unlike all my other work this does not go in the kiln and is not fused into the glass. I would loose the bottle shape if I did this. However the result is effective and adds a bit of colour and light to wherever you choose to put it. There are two sizes of bottle , the smaller one having 10 led lights and the larger 20. The batteries in the plastic corks are replaceable and easily available.

New Year

Happy New Year ! My New Year resolution is to try to be a little more proactive and post more blogs on the website and keep it up to date. So far this year I have posted the range of dogs and cats that I started before Christmas. I am hoping to add more breeds of dogs . It is possible to create dogs and cats to order from photos of specific pets. The two images show the dogs and cats in the kiln before firing and then the finished items.
